No matter what your age, size, or physical ability is, you can do every exercise in Pilates for Everyone. Each Pilates exercise shows the typical movements for gaining the physical and mental benefits from that exercise. Book was exactly as described and arrived in excellent condition. This item was packed with care! Cardboard reinforced & double bubble mailers! I had to say something about the packing job for shipping because far too often people just throw it in an envelope and hope for the best. Thank you for taking the time to make sure it arrived in excellent condition!

I love this Pilates instructor's, thoughtful, diverse, and interesting look at the discipline. It is different from my prior instruction sets but I loved the Pinterest exercises and decided to try it. The book exercises provide various levels of intensity, it is easy to mix and match, and the instructions are easy to understand. The only improvement would be to include one thing: I like when I am told when to breath to maximize the benefits of Pilates. Without the breathing instructions, the book remains EXCELLENT. How that is true...She actually knows what she is doing with the variety provided. This is a great gift for yourself or others.

I loved this book. I have been practicing yoga for almost 10 years and teaching for 5. Recently, I was given the opportunity to teach seniors with multiple mobility difficulties and this book has expanded my alternatives for multiple poses. Every teacher should have a copy and apply many of the alternative poses even in “regular” classes.

I absolutely love the book. It is very well organized and there is literally a modification for everyone. The pictures are great and the models are very diverse. One of the models is even an amputee. The exercises are organized in such a way as to group them in “floor”, “chair”, or “standing” categories. I have never thought of doing Pilates standing or in a chair. Now I do it in my office too! The only thing I would change would be to make an option for spiral binding so that the book could be laid flat. I think every exercise book should have an option for spiral binding.

Pilates for Everyone is a breath of fresh air! It takes the mystery out of Pilates, which has been perceived as an elite form of exercise, and makes it accessible to everyone, no matter your body type or fitness level. With warmth and clarity, Micki meets you where you providing insightful, understandable, and actionable stretches and exercises that anyone can do from home. I was especially surprised by how the slow, intentional movements worked muscles that I didn't even know I had! Great for building core strength, stamina, and flexibility. This book is nicer than you might expect. It is simple and very clear with color pictures of each exercise (not drawings) and each has variations for various needs - Standing, seated, pregnancy, wheelchair, using weights, using your body as weight, using wall/chair/floor, balance ball, etc. The models represent a wide range of REAL people, from fit to overweight to pregnant to a person in a wheelchair, young and not as young. This is not for the hard core athlete but for the everyday person just trying to figure out how to incorporate exercise into their routine.

This book gives a collection of 50 exercises and shows variations of each, depending on all kinds of factors. Whether you are older, less fit, not able to walk, pregnant, etc. There are pictures given of people with these conditions and how the exercises are adapted for them. I only wish it were bound differently so I could lay it open but other than that it is a very useful book.

The exercises included in this book really are for everybody. I am just starting on my journey to fitness and with the explanations and photos on this book I feel like I can do any one of of these exercises. Each one has variations, also with photos, that you can use if you you need or want to based on your physical ability. The models are "real people" of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. When I see someone who looks like me represented in a fitness book, I think, "Yeah, I can really do these exercises!" As opposed to the picture perfect models online whose before pictures I can't even begin to dream of looking like. When I see those, I get frustrated and think "why bother, it's impossible for someone as out of shape as I am to do these exercises." I have successfully done every exercise I've tried from this book, and I've been adding more.

With arthritis, I really have no choice. I must exercise every day or the pai will come roaring back. Now I find ‘Fitness for Everyone.’ This is a book filled with photos of real people, not some buff fitness guru, but real people who must compensate for real problems. This is a book that makes me want to try, actually want to exercise more. If they can overcome their problems, so can I.

My thanks to author Louise Green. This book is a keeper!

I was pleased to finally see a fitness book with exercises in it that can be done the standard way or modified to fit pregnant women as well as various body shapes, abilities, and disabilities.

I'm in a wheelchair and can get down on the floor fast enough (I fall real good) but have a horrid struggle, even with help, sometimes it take s call to 911 for the firemen to help, to get back up so floor exercises are a big no no. I've been limited in how many types of exercises I can do so having more options I great!

Having a disability and being in the disability community, I totally know that many people choose not to see us and may be offended at some of the photos. But, we are in the world and want to be included in it. Being welcomed to be physically fit with photos of like people in this book is so refreshing. It's terrific not to be left out or have disability addressed in a patronizing manner.

Even the disabled like to look and feel good. We who are disabled don't look at what we can't do, we look at what we CAN do. We are the Enabled. And this book enables us even more!

I'll start off by saying there is nothing in this book that cant be found online. However I am a serious book lover and now that I'm homeschooling my kids I see the value in many different types of reading material. This has a wonderful break down of various exercised for various types of bodies and abilities. It also informs you of a few different pieces of equipment needed to complete them. You could utilize every single one of these exercises for a beginner for sure. Not only does it show you the exercise it tells you how many you need to do. I'm satisfied with it and am happy to add it to my exercise related section of my home library.

Tons of pictures to demonstrate how these exercises should be done and variations depending on weight and ability.

There are 7 models .. each with a "story page" peppered throughout the book.
One is an amputee, another wheel chair bound, ... overweight, pregnant, older ... these are not super models, they are a variety of people at different stages of life and ability. It kind of takes away the excuse when you see someone without a leg doing the exercise.

Each exercise is presented with picture steps "How To" ... then variations based on abilities ... do you need a chair, to be on the floor?

There are so many things to try out. All of these are doable and low impact but they can be vital to range of motion and strength building.

I really like that the people in the photos look "real" and not "beyond me" beautiful. Seeing that someone "not perfect" doing these makes it easier to try and keep doing.

This terrific book truly has options for nearly anyone. Finally, but fitness book that isn’t about diet culture or trying to look a certain way. It’s about being strong and healthy in your body, whatever body that might be. The models are of different shapes, ages, sizes, and ability, and it includes someone who uses a wheelchair, someone with a prosthetic leg, and a pregnant woman. Absolutely wonderful! No more discouraging pictures of only fitness models. Just regular people working on strength, stamina, and flexibility. Plenty of modifications for each exercise, this book really is for just about anyone!

Modifications are designed to accommodate people with disability, fat folks, pregnant people, people with mobility limitations and more. It also offers great exercises for athletes who don't desire modified movements. This book is full of amazing photos of people who are all kinds of abled. The images and the stories clearly show that yoga is for everyone and not just those who are already fit, flexible, furiously devoted to their practice.
There is room for everyone in yoga. One of the beauties of this books is that it has photos of real people doing real yoga. I find this much more accessible and inspirational than line drawings because after all, it is easy to twist a line drawing into a pose but not so easy to twist a person into a pose.

Had a unique experience with two months of Yoga classes one-on-one with the instructor. Long story. Bottom line is that I never got into the spiritual aspects of Yoga, rather I experience it as a stretching experience. When the class ended I wanted to continue the poses on my own and we chose this book. Excellent!! Between the pictures and the text both the how and way of each pose is detailed. And, alternatives are provided should the "real thing" not work for the reader. Hey, I'm in my late seventies and those effective but less challenging poses are terrific. Many of the Yoga books we reviewed were primarily text. They were like describing a color. Need visuals and this book has them. Highly recommended.

Yoga for everyone and every body type. Seriously!
So many variations and well-photographed pictures that show you exactly what to do.

I always felt bad when trying yoga (numerous times), because I could never achieve the poses showed by the instructors. Yes, they said I could modify it because I am a newbie, but I didn't know how to go about the modifications.

And this is the main reason why I think this book is so amazing. It fills a gap that needed attention. It helps those of us that are not "fit" just yet.

Besides all the modifications, seeing all those different body types is so helpful and encouraging, empowering even. It literally goes beyond telling yoga is for everybody, to actually showing you that yoga can be learned and perform by anyone.

I read this book as someone that wants to learn to do yoga, but I can see this can also help yoga teachers to show their students how to go about adopting yoga poses and practices as beginners with less strength as flexible as a teacher that is probably practicing yoga for years and might not quite remember how it is intimidating for a newbie to see all those poses and balancing performed by a professional.

Yoga for everyone also shows you that the people in the book are not just models posing for the photographs. They are real people practicing yoga. Some even instructors themselves.

This book is truly a valuable resource for anyone trying to learn yoga.

I cannot tell you how many times I have had clients come to me and ask if there is a different way to do a yoga pose, that actually they can do. Dianne Bondy has written a wonderful book, that will reach the needs of many yoga enthusiasts. I think for most people just trying yoga for the first time, it can be a bit intimidating. I have had several conversations with people about the difficulty they experience when coming to a yoga class, they think they cannot possibly do it and should quite. “Yoga for Everyone”, will save a lot of people from missing out on the life changing experience you get from Yoga, by enabling anyone to do it.

I enjoyed the way the author displayed the original yoga pose, then on the next page, gave several variations depending on your body makeup, of poses that are unique to your individual needs. She covers all the basics of yoga, with 50 poses in this well written book, as well as sequences in the back you can include in your daily routine. Each is labeled to a particular personnel need you might have. The pictures instruct the reader with such clarity, that this is a great book for an at home yoga self-taught experience.

I have been teaching yoga for 10 years now, and will be recommending “Yoga for Everyone” by Dianne Bondy to my clients, to reaffirm that they CAN do yoga.

What a wonderful, accessible guide, in all meanings of the word. The layout is clear and legible, the cues are logical, and the photos provide great reference for how the poses can look on all different bodies. As a teacher I use this book often to provide modifications for students to make poses more accessible, but this is also a great book for someone looking to get into yoga. It’s so refreshing to see real bodies doing real poses.

This book really is all inclusive. It breaks down the poses and gives a number of variations of them. Also love the variety of the pose models (and their stories). They show that yoga doesn't have to be just for bendy, slender people, which I am not. :)

In recent years yoga has been marketed as an activity for young, thin, privileged, white women, so when anyone outside that mold looked at yoga, it seemed like it wasn't meant for us. It feels like the tide is turning and people are actively seeking out diverse voices. Dianne Bondy has been doing this work for a long time, long before it became trendy, and she knows what she's talking about. This book is beautiful, easy to follow, and I think everyone can find parts of themselves reflected in the yogis who were photographed. If you're at all uneasy or unsure of where to start with yoga, or wondering if there's a place for you in yoga, start here!

I absolutely love this book!! This book truly demonstrates that yoga is for everyone, The book illustrates 50 yoga poses and shows adjustments that can be made to accommodate people with different body types or physical challenges or age categories.

It is very refreshing that the illustrative poses are done with models that have different body types and not just what society considers the "Perfect Body" as is marketed by most yoga publications.

I will place my order for my own physical copy. as this is a great reference book to have as a practitioner of yoga!

Yoga for Everyone is such an incredible guide for anyone wanting to try yoga. Author Dianne Bondy shows, with beautiful full-page pictures and clear instructions, how everyone can get into 50 yoga poses. She shows multiple variations of each pose to accommodate every body type regardless of age, size or disability. This really breaks the image that yoga is only for young, fit, flexible people. I highly recommend Yoga for Everyone!

I love the idea of yoga. I've taken a few classes off an on for about ten years, but as a curvy girl I struggle to find poses I can do without my body being in the way. Often times in classes I'm made to feel like "other" because every pose has to be modified and it's embarrassing. As a result, even though I love the idea of yoga, I haven't practiced in ages.

First, I love the cover and the title, how it is for all people, not just us "curvy" friends, but people of different abilities and shows this without calling anyone out. There have been other yoga books I've glanced at in bookstores, but wouldn't have purchased because the cover and titled called out my own insecurities.

I love the permission this book provides. Find what you love and do it. Don't love something, just don't do it. It's made me feel more confident to try different things.

I've loved practicing with this book. I love all of the real people shown throughout the pages and learning their stories. I've already ordered a physical copy of the book to use as I continue my practice. It's amazing how seeing someone you can identify with on the pages of a book gives you the confidence that lack to do something you've always been interested in.

I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I've since ordered my own personal, physical copy.

The layout of this book is what really sets it apart. It features 8 different models with a wide range of body types. Each post is shown how it is "usually" taught and then photos are shown of different models doing modified versions of that pose. It would be a great book for any yogi or a teacher looking to make their yoga class more accessible.

As a fuller figured woman with physical limitations, this book is much needed for anyone who practices or is even just curious about yoga. Contains beautiful photos to demonstrate modifications. Seeing Dianne in a commercial a few years ago not only inspired me to try yoga for the first time, but her passion for making yoga accessible for all has now inspired me to teach. Her book has given me great ideas for my teacher-training practicum, my own personal practice, and how to help others achieve their own personal asana goals. I LOVE this book!

Happy to see such an inclusive yoga story here. It brings home the message that Yoga IS for everyone. I love it. I got it on my lunch break and don't even want to put it down. Very informative about modifications with written explanation and photos. Seeing how different bodies look in the poses is wonderful instruction for me as a teacher. I did a retreat with Dianne two years ago and she is the most empowering instructor I've ever studied from - so I'm glad she brought her practice to a book. Definitely feel it is a necessary tool for all of us teachers and a good tool for students as well.

Dianne Bondy has gifted us with the essential yoga asana resource. It should be essential curriculum in every yoga teacher training, alongside Judith Lasater's essential yoga asanas book. Bondy offers not just the basic poses, but all sorts of variations, backing up the title that yoga truly is for everyone. In this book, you see yoga practitioners who are real people - not what you see in so much yoga marketing - including an amputee. Every yoga teacher training should be using Bondy's book as an essential piece of its curriculum. It’s one for right now and for the ages.

I was super excited to get this copy of Yoga for Everyone! It is so different from any other book or video on yoga techniques I’ve seen. Typically the books I’ve read show slender women that are incredibly flexible modeling all the poses effortlessly. They look great, but that’s just not me. This book shows real people that don’t have perfect bodies and they also demonstrate modified poses for anyone with limited mobility.
I love this yoga book and would love to see a video to go with it! The message I get from this book is that yoga IS for EVERYONE! I love it!

I am so excited about this book! I’ve been looking for a book with full color large photographs of people doing different yoga postures and this book has all of that plus a lot more. The “More“ that I’m talking about is the suggested variations of each pose, not just for larger bodies, but for bodies that might not be as flexible, or bodies that are in pain, or bodies that are pregnant.

The first section has all kinds of good information about the benefits of yoga, as well as how to set up your own individual practice of yoga.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I buy a lot of yoga books and Dianne Bondy's Yoga for Everyone is by far the best resource in my library on how to adjust yoga poses for the varied bodies in my classes. I love the full color pictures and the diversity of the models used to demonstrate the poses. Dianne delivers on her promise: Yoga is for everyone and in this book she shows you how to make it work for you. Highly recommend.

This book offers yoga for every type of body: big, small, elderly, pregnant, disabled—everyone. No matter who you are or what you look like or what your abilities are, you can do all 50 poses in this book. The variations to classic poses in this book will also allow you to perform all 10 sequences, which combine different poses into one singular experience and focus on specific physical and mental benefits.

So forget what you've heard. Yoga isn't just for the privileged few. It's meant to be enjoyed by everybody and every body. Yes, you can do yoga—and Yoga for Everyone will show you how!

This book teaches you that yoga really is for every body type! I've always been afraid to try yoga thinking I was "too big" for it or that I was going to do it wrong and hurt myself but with this easy to follow guide I was able to try yoga successfully. It does take some practice, but this book was a great resource to learning yoga.

This book shows yoga poses for all body types and personalities. It is not designed for the pampered models that other books show.

I always wanted to try yoga but was reluctant to try a class or even do yoga with a friend. This book gives me the confidence that I can do yoga in my own home safely and at the stage I need.

I suffer from a variety of afflictions, including fibromyalgia. It is difficult for me to perform some of the positions yoga requires. This book, however, show additional positions to be used by those who are unable to perform the normal pose. It offers four ways that are acceptable to doing yoga.

I have begun to participate in yoga. I used the adapted forms. I have not seen a change in my abilities because it has only been one week. I have found slight advances in my stretching ability. This is very promising!!!

I love this book. It was definitely written for everyone.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. That in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book.
