    I absolutely love this book and bonus material.
    I have been a caregiver for my daughter for 10 years, it has taken a toll on my body. I used to work out and take care of my body until my focus was all on her strengthening and learning to walk again after a devastating car accident(brain injury). I am finally getting back to taking care of me again because I have to. Professionals in this business have been taught to protect their body during caregiving, however family not so much-we just do and it takes a toll when you are not conditioned for that type of work. This book has helped me in so many ways I am thrilled to be taking the time to care for myself in the same way it feels really good and refreshing. A new life at 65!!     I have exercised regularly for quite awhile, both with sports and fitness classes, and with follow-along DVDs. I've found that most core workouts in my classes were long boring series of variations on crunches and many core workouts on DVDs were too difficult. I've decided I need to do something different to improve core strength. This book to the rescue. I plan to incorporate the well-laid out plan in this book. There are beginner, intermediate and more advanced options provided. Most everyone can spare 6 minutes to improve their core. In addition to Torso exercises, there are shoulder & hip exercises too. And included are plans to improve balance and relieve back & knee pain. As bonuses, there are free downloads of the plans, and videos you can watch if the drawings aren't enough to grasp the positions and actions.

Although it does not address sciatica directly, I found it to be by far the most helpful in explaining the relationship between weak core muscles and back pain. The book explains the difference between 'mover' muscles and 'stabilizing' muscles,and why core strength is most important in helping to prevent injury and relieve pain.
    The book provides a progression from simple to advanced exercises, as well as complete routines that don't take a lot of time but are simple and effective - highly ecommended!

    I teach group fitness classes and have far too many exercise books! However, this one is a favorite. I love the way it is laid out. In particular I love the “common mistakes” section with each exercise. As an instructor I have to watch for my students doing an exercise incorrectly. But for individuals doing these exercises at home they need to be able to know how to monitor themselves. I have found very few books with this advice. This book is excellent.

    This book is absolutely excellent. There are workouts for varying levels, beginner, intermediate and advanced, all clearly illustrated and explained. The author has also provided free videos on the web to show how to do them as an extra bonus. Exercises are explained extremely well and have great graphics to illustrate. The exercises cover all aspects of the core: abs, back, hips, torso, shoulders. Yes, shoulders need to be included! The workouts include torso, back, knees, hips, posture and balance. Flexibility is also well covered. The section on how to do core bracing correctly is the best I have ever seen. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. It is that good. I am a certified personal trainer, have read a zillion books and articles on fitness and recovery issues, and would recommend this book to anyone. If you ever have back or knee pain, which I sometimes do in the course of a typical life, this is a lifesaver. This book helped me feel better in both areas in only a few days of following the back and knee workouts. Highly recommend.

    This is a simple and short book about how and why to strengthen your core muscles. It explains and shows illustrations for each family of core muscles. It also explains what might happen (pain or injury) if that part isn’t strong enough.
    
You may be able to self diagnose your problem based on these descriptions. Then you can do the exercises to build those specific muscles up. It also includes explanations for why some common exercises may not be good for you.

    There are easy exercises and illustrations for strengthening your core. It lists and shows step by step illustrations. You can work your way up from easy, then intermediate, to advanced exercises.

    There is some equipment required. A mat, yoga bolster or pillow, 10 pound weight, resistance band, chair/ bench, and wall are used.

    These are some excellent and simple workouts that anyone would be able to do. Especially if they start at the “easy” skill level. Would recommend to anyone who wants a stronger core, or just wants to get into better shape. Suitable for both beginner and advanced fitness levels.

    I had gone for physical therapy two plus years ago. I had recently noticed a difference in my core muscles since I quit doing my exercises. So I decided to pick this book up. I am so glad I did, the explanations and diagrams are excellent. It brought back my rehab days for sure while doing "Bird Dog" and "Dead Bug". Then there are the dreaded but so important planks. All and all this is a great book. I'm on my way back to a strong core! (Author has a 60+ workout book that I'm going to check out: 60 in June).

    Dr. Su's easy to follow, no-frill, straightforward exercises is exactly what I've been looking for to strengthen my core, improve posture, and fix any misalignments that were always a mystery after seeing many chiropractors and physical therapists. His approach is great for any age and fitness ability. I've incorporated these exercises into my weekly run routine, along with some strength training, and have noticed I've adjusted to standing taller, which as a by-product has made me feel more confident as well!

    It's apparent that Dr. Su has drawn much experience working with the men and women in the military who work their bodies hard and therefore, prescribed these fundamental movements to help them both strengthen and heal. Really glad he shares his knowledge with everyone in this second published book.

    I am also a physical therapist and have found tremendous value in both Dr. Su’s first book and this book.

    I work with multiple demographics/age ranges and this information can be applied to anyone. The military population, athletes, desk jockeys and the elderly are some examples of populations that can benefit from this info.

    Medical providers can sometimes be to technical and this book breaks down complex yet fundamental principles that can help with injury prevention and performance improvement.

    The information in this book can also act as a layer of physical therapy that may save you time if your injuries fully recover by following the instructions and principles of exercise. I prescribe a lot of these exercises to the gamut of patients that I see and many of them respond favorably to the core strengthening approach if appropriate.

    I highly recommend applying the principles of this book for prevention, preparation, addressing certain injuries and learning the anatomy of the core in a digestible fashion.

    As a retired physical therapist with 47 years experience, I recommend Dr. Su's book of core exercises as the best on the market. The book has video instructions available for each exercise. The exercises are grouped for beginner to advanced with age and medical precautions in clear, concise language. It includes anatomy and posture. Medical language is used so it is easily defined by the lay-person. I recommend this excellent book without reservation! Highly Recommend.

This book provides perfect, short exercise routines that require little space and virtually no equipment at all. Excellent for travellers stuck in hotel rooms!

    Dr. Su does a marvelous job of taking a complex topic and making it easy to understand. More importantly, his well-researched exercises are illustrated and described so well that they are also easy to do! I'm 77 and although I've been active my whole life, I am beginning to see effects of poor posture and loss of strength. The 6 minute plan with effectively- designed workouts give me hope to make these workouts a daily event! I bought the paperback book because I want to follow the exercises exactly. I'm very excited to improve my posture and strengthen my core with these exercises. I want to improve my balance and prevent falls. Thank you Dr Su for writing this book!

    As a PT, I thought this was a great book. Dr. Su hit on some key points that are often ignored when talking about core and back strength in that crunches and situps can potentially be harmful to some people's backs and that there are other better, more effective ways to strengthen the core and back that don't cause those same issues. Like many things in life, if we do it and do it consistently, we'll get the desired outcomes. So I encourage everyone with chronic back or hip pain, anyone who is post-partum, or anyone aging and concerned about falling, weakness, or lack of endurance to give this book a read and then to do the programs - consistently!

    I'm 21 years old and i focus on core strength 5 days out of the week but i was following makeshift programs and ideas for what a perfect workout should be. Not following a certain discipline ensuring proper training and trying not to injure myself. Although core strength might come to some as an easy task, far from it it could be easy if done properly. People work for years trying to perfect their core and not achieving it, however Dr. Su makes it easy and possible for everyone no matter the age or the body type, he does a phenomenal job of explaining and making sure you understand what you're doing and why you're doing it. Fantastic piece of work should be in everyone's library, no matter if you work out once a week, all week, or not at all this book is a must have for everyone!! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!! THE ONE PURCHASE YOU WON'T REGRET!

    I started searching for simple core workouts after throwing my back out and came across this book. And it's honestly perfect. 6 minutes to do daily, which is so accessible to add to a busy schedule! The author breaks everything down into easy to understand steps, and it ranges from beginner to more advanced movements. Highly recommend for everyone, but especially if you're like me and quarantine has affected your overall strength and gym access. I couldn't be happier with it.

Each section of exercises gives easy to follow step by step instructions, pictures and a much needed section on common mistakes. Great summary section at the back of the book that outlines a daily 6 minute or less exercise plan.

    Dr. Su's book on core strength is amazing! I've been dealing with chronic lower back pain for over a year due to changes in my daily routine brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. I became very sedentary, and my body was paying the price. Since getting Dr. Su's book, learning about the core, and incorporating his workouts into my day, I've begun to feel better!     Parts 1 and 2 gave a quick foundation and some simple techniques to learn core bracing. I have been practicing for a few days and find it rewarding as my coordination gets better. In the coming days and weeks I am looking forward to learning new exercises and routines in parts 3 and 4. The writing style is almost conversational - easy to follow - but full of useful information and illustrations.

    I've always known having a strong core is important but never really known how to best approach improving mine. Sometimes I have very little accountability. XD I've tried to set goals like doing 100 sit ups a day and can't even make over a week. This book was an easy read that educated me and offers a variety of exercises for all levels. Definitely a better use of my energy and time.

    So I went through all the exercises just to learn the moves and I also watched the videos because I really want to have good form and that can be hard to achieve by yourself. Keep in mind there is a lot of highlight on form that isn't plainly visible. This was very helpful and somethings actually felt easier as I engaged probably the right muscles and put less strain on the wrong ones. I found that I needed the beginner modification on some to keep from the "common mistakes." I like that this is easily spelled out and also there are advanced modifications for me in the future. I'm hoping to follow these workouts with the very reasonable time commitment and looking forward to how a stronger core may help me overcome my sport climbing plateau too (hovering at 5.10-). I'm hopeful as the first walkthrough of these exercises made me feel the things in all the places that never get any love.

    In reading 6-Minute Core Strength, I learned the importance of how to feel more in control of my balance and how it affects all aspects of my physical ability. My life is very busy, and I often feel like I don’t have any spare time, but I found it practical and sustainable to commit just a short amount of time every day consistently. I’m currently pregnant, so I will not be able to utilize all of the exercises highlighted in the book until later, but it has been very easy to adapt to variations that suit me. Prior to reading this book, I always thought of core strength as being able to do repetitive sit-ups, which I certainly am not able to do right now, but there is still plenty I can do, and I understand now that there are much more efficient ways of strengthening muscles which are safer anyway and avoid aggravating my back. I have learned to brace my core muscles and not strain in the physical movements I do daily. Tasks like carrying laundry, picking up my three-year-old, or walking up the stairs I now feel more aware of how my posture is, and how I can avoid injuries. I found the Bird Dog exercise to be very comfortable and was a great way to engage my core, legs, and arms, while being aware of my pelvic floor and ab muscles. Sometimes I only have the energy to alternate my arms and resting my legs, but I still feel the benefit of focusing on the positioning of my back and breathing. I also really like the side-lying leg lift and the single leg tuck; it gives my back a break and allows me to stretch and work on my core muscles. Another exercise I incorporate is the hip abductor squeeze which helps to relieve lower back sciatic nerve pain. Learning how to properly stretch by reading this book has improved my flexibility and reduced restlessness as well. The instructions and illustrations are easy to understand and would benefit any level of fitness ability. I highly recommend 6-Minute Core Strength to anyone looking to improve their health!

    This is a fantastic book! When I first bought it I was just expecting to get a simple yet somewhat structured ab workout regimen. Basically something along the lines of "here are some ab exercises do them." But this is so much more than that. This book is actually very educational, and uses great metaphors and analogies to explain the importance of core strength in an easy-to-understand way using science-backed research. It also dispels the belief that sit-ups and crunches are bad for you. Can't wait to show off my washboard abs when I go to Hawaii next year! I recommend getting it if you're on the fence about buying it.

    However one complaint I do have is about the audiobook audio. I'm sort of an audiophile and the narrator's equipment isn't the highest quality, but I guess that's neither here nor there lol.

    Dr. Su did a phenomenal job, once again, with providing simple, clear, organized material. The illustrations and examples are easy for anyone to understand. The example workouts and information are easy for anyone to implement and the progressions provided are adjustable to any fitness level. Excellent product and would recommend for ALL!

    I personally use this type of material with my clients/patients and now am excited to share this reference/resource and would encourage anyone wanting to improve their posture, their ability to move or control their movements better and enjoy a greater quality of life.

    I had no idea that core muscles are one of the most important muscles in our body , and this book made it all clear with its amazing and easy approach full of knowledge to all type of readers easy to perform the exercises that have been explained and shown in the book !!!

    I am amazed with the information in the book and it’s materials ! Can’t wait to start performing those exercises and have all the confidence it will benefit me to see results in very short time !!

    I would recommend it for everyone to take the chance to be introduced to the importance of the core for us and have enough knowledge about it .
